Islamabad - 8 November 2023 (Adnan Hameed) : Jiang Zaidong, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, met with the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Jamal Shah, to discuss and reinforce the cultural relations between Pakistan and China.

During this meeting, both Jiang Zaidong and Minister Jamal Shah engaged in substantive discussions regarding the enhancement of cultural exchanges and cooperation in various domains, including Heritage, Art, Culture, Education, capacity building of museums, and the promotion of football in Pakistan, with a particular focus on Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A significant highlight of their deliberations was the upcoming second China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Cultural Caravan in 2024. Additionally, the digitization and 3D scanning of archaeological sites and artifacts, along with fostering innovation in the IT sector, remained central themes of the meeting.

Minister Jamal Shah emphasized the immense potential for collaboration between Pakistan and China in the fields of art and cultural heritage, underscoring the opportunity to further strengthen the bonds between the two friendly nations.

The minister also shared insights from his recent tour to China, where he held productive meetings with officials from Chinese cultural departments and museums.

The commitment of Jiang Zaidong and Minister Jamal Shah to enhancing Pak-China cultural ties stands as a testament to the enduring partnership between the two nations. As the second CPEC Cultural Caravan approaches, these collaborative efforts promise to bring greater cultural enrichment and understanding between Pakistan and China.
